I'd gone with Jo up to Taree to find a place for him. Well we did, but it didn't quite work out that way. We found THE PLACE for him, but getting it wasn't guaranteed.
The night before he phoned the real-estate agent to hear if he'd got it, I went to a pagan ritual in Sydney. Cool ritual, even though the police and the fire brigade turned up (nasty neighbours at work). That was more farcical than anything else -- it'd been claimed that a bonfire was burning in the backyard, when it was merely a cauldron, and not a large one either.
I was given a hand drawn rune
which represents victory and achievement, and in this instance, change (hence the title of this page).
Anyway, on that occasion I asked for an increase in my bank balance, to be better off financially. The next day Jo found that he hadn't got the place. I immediately thought that perhaps the ritual had influenced the outcome. Jo and I resolved our differences and after some thought Jo decided to stay as a border here.
Next week though someone up the road goes silly and blocks the back lane-way with logs, blocking my (and Jo's) access to the road from there. We moved the logs to get through, and they were moved back and larger ones placed there. Enough of this -- I contacted the local council who ummed and ahhed before saying they'd check into it. Nothing happened.
Jo was freaking out at this stage, as the guy up the road had also threatened him with violence. I decided to do a bit of candle magic.
It almost worked, but I'd used the wrong candle (it was a black one inside a stone case) and I only got a half result -- that the ranger would come out and check on things.
I tried another council, and by the time it was burnt to nothing, the logs were off the lane-way. The ranger had been, contacted the owner (it was owned by a mining corp) and the guy up the road was told not to use it. But then, so was Jo.
See, I'd asked quite specifically for a "clear lane-way", but I hadn't said anything about the circumstances to make it clear. Sometimes you get what you wanted, but it isn't what you expected.
